Maren Sollie is a watercolor artist and illustrator based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Her work centers on the landscapes of the Upper Midwest — birch forests, lake shores, the particular quality of light in March, the way a field looks right after ice-out.
Maren holds a BFA in Illustration from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Her work has been exhibited at galleries throughout the Twin Cities and is held in private collections across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the Pacific Northwest.
She works primarily in transparent watercolor on 300lb cold-press paper, with occasional gouache and ink. She also creates botanical illustrations and accepts commissions for original work.
