Indie rock built for long drives and bad weather. Formed in a Northeast Minneapolis basement, 2019.
Pale Acre is an indie rock band from Northeast Minneapolis. Formed in 2019 around a shared love of long winters, loud guitars, and the particular sadness of Midwest January, the four-piece has spent the last several years building a devoted regional following through relentless live shows and self-released recordings.
Their debut full-length, Thin Ice Season (2026), was recorded at Pachyderm Studio in Cannon Falls, MN and produced by the band with engineer Cole Halverson. The record distills five years of basement shows and highway miles into nine songs about staying and leaving and the specific loneliness of being young somewhere cold.
