Chex Party Mix (Homemade Savory Blend)

There’s nothing disagreeable about Chex mix, and that’s the point. It’s a snack designed to be eaten by the handful while conversations overlap and nobody is paying close attention to the clock.

Making it yourself lets you tune the balance — more butter, more Worcestershire, more crunch. It’s not precious food. It’s practical, familiar, and exactly right for the middle of the table.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Corn Chex
  • 3 cups Rice Chex
  • 2 cups pretzel sticks
  • 1 cup mixed nuts
  • 6 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp seasoned salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Some cayenne if you're angry at someone

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F.
  2. Combine cereals, pretzels, and nuts in a large bowl.
  3. Mix butter, Worcestershire, and seasonings; pour over mix.
  4. Stir to coat and bake on a sheet for 1 hour, stirring every 15 mins.
  5. Cool and store in an airtight container.
Notes:
  • Customize with bagel chips or Goldfish.
