Hot Ham and Rolls

Hot ham and cheese rolls are pure Midwest practicality. Soft rolls, salty ham, butter brushed generously over the top—assembled quickly and baked until everything comes together.

They’re made for luncheons, game days, and kitchens full of conversation. Nothing fancy, nothing wasted, and exactly what people hope for when they lift the foil.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb deli-sliced ham
  • 1 dozen soft rolls (Hawaiian work very well)
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds (optional)
  • Swiss cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cut rolls in half horizontally. Place bottoms in a greased baking dish.
  3. Layer with ham and cheese (if using). Replace tops.
  4. Mix butter, mustard, Worcestershire, and poppy seeds. Brush over tops.
  5. Cover with foil and bake 15 minutes. Uncover and bake 5 more minutes.
Notes:
  • Serve warm straight from the pan—perfect for a crowd.
