Peach Cobbler with Sugar Crust
I don't think I'd ever even had a cobbler until I was like 25. That is a quarter of a century that I will never get back.
Ingredients
- 4 cups peeled, sliced peaches (fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a baking dish.
- Toss peaches with 1/2 cup sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Set aside.
- In a bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and milk to make batter.
- Pour melted butter into pan. Spoon batter over butter, do not stir.
- Add peaches over top. Do not stir.
- Bake 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbling.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
