Puppy Chow

Puppy chow is the snack that quietly anchors holidays, movie nights, and long car rides. Chocolate, peanut butter, powdered sugar—nothing subtle, nothing shy.

It’s best made in big batches and eaten by the handful. You don’t plate it. You pass the container and keep talking.

Ingredients

  • 9 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Melt chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter together; stir until smooth.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  3. Pour over Chex in a large bowl and stir gently to coat.
  4. Place coated cereal in a large zip-top bag with powdered sugar.
  5. Seal and shake until evenly coated.
  6. Cool and store in airtight container.
Notes:
  • Also called Muddy Buddies. Can be frozen for crunch.
