Walleye Sandwich with Tartar Sauce

Minnesota's state fish on a bun. I'm not even going to try and act cool, I've never caught a walleye. But I do love sandwiches like this with bluegill, crappie, perch, or even store bought fish. This sammy is lightly breaded, fried until golden, served with tartar sauce. Friday fish fry staple that never gets old.

Ingredients

  • 4 walleye, bluegill, perch or even tilapia fillets if you're in a pinch
  • Shore Lunch brand fish fry for breading. Cajun or Regular. Non-Negotiable.
  • Salt and pepper
  • Oil for frying
  • 4 sesame seed sandwich buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce

Instructions

  1. Season fish with salt and pepper. Dredge in Shore Lunch.
  2. Fry in hot oil (350°F) for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
  3. Drain on paper towels.
  4. Toast buns, spread with tartar sauce, and build with fish, lettuce, and tomato. You can add a slice of American Cheese, just dont tell anyone.
